Sic Bo rules
Sic Bo is an ancient game of dice that was invented in China. Even though it was invented and remains extremely popular in Southeast Asia, it has many similarities with Grand Hazard, a game that both the English and French claim to have invented.
BetVoyager offers our conventional version of Sic Bo and a version with no house edge. The features of the latter are described at the end of this page.
Basic Rules of Sic Bo
The game is played with three dice, each with the numbers 1 to 6. Before each regular roll, the player places bets on a number or combination that can be rolled. He can place bets on several sectors of Sic Bo table. Each sector corresponds with a particular type of bet, which is explained below.
One Number
This bet wins if the number selected by the player is rolled on any of the dice. There are six possible bets, from 1 to 6. It pays out 1:1. If two of the dice have the selected number, the bet pays out 2:1. If all three dice roll the number, the payout is 16:1.
Domino
This bet wins if any two dice have the numbers selected by the player. The numbers must be different, so there are 15 possible bets: 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 1-5, 1-6, 2-3, 2-4, 2-5, 2-6, 3-4, 3-5, 3-6, 4-5, 4-6, 5-6. It pays out 6:1.
Specific Double
This bet wins when the doubles selected by the player are rolled (for example, two 1’s). There are six possible bets and the payout is 11:1. If the third die also has the same number, the bet pays 31:1.
Specific Triple
This bet wins when the triple selected by the player is rolled (for example, three 1’s). There are six possible bets and the payout is 208:1.
Any Triple
This bet wins if all three dice roll any of the six possible triples. It pays 34:1.
Big, Small
The Big bet wins if the sum of the points on all three dice is from 11 to 17. The Small bet wins if the sum is from 4 to 10. The payout is 1:1. However, if any triples are rolled, both the bets lose.
Total
This bet wins in Sic Bo if the total sum of all three dice is equal to the number selected by the player. There are 14 possible bets, ranging from 4 to 17. The payout is determined according to the following chart:

When the cursor is moved over any sector of the game table, a bubble help appears that indicates the corresponding payout and the maximum bet.
To make a bet, it is first necessary to choose a chip with the desired face-value. At the beginning of the game, this chip is chosen by default, and the chip with the minimum face-value fixes itself onto the cursor. If the player wants a chip with a different face-value, he can select it by clicking on that chip with the cursor. The player can also use the scroll wheel on his mouse to change the chip’s value. After the chip is selected, the player can place a bet by clicking the mouse on the desired part of the game table and his bet will appear there. Each subsequent click adds another chip of the selected face-value to the bet. If the player wants to remove the last chip from his bet, he can remove the chip fixed onto the cursor by clicking the cursor on any empty part of the game window and then clicking on this bet.
The "Clear" button can be pressed to remove all the bets from the table. If the player wishes to repeat his bets from the previous roll, he can press the "Rebet" button. The "Roll" button will begin the game after the bets have been made.
If the player wants to roll several times in a row and use the same bet each roll, he should click the "AUTO" button to start autoplay.
If the player moves mouse cursor over this button, he will see a counter appear above it that displays the number of spins that will be made during autoplay.
At the beginning of a game session, this number is equal to the maximum possible value — 1000, but it can be changed with the switches on the counter. Autoplay starts as soon as the "AUTO" button is clicked. The manual roll mode is restored by pressing the "AUTO" button once more.
Comments on randomness control. If a series of rolls is made using randomness control, one of the counter values appears as «RC». When autoplay is started and RC is selected, all remaining rolls in the randomness control series will be played.
The maximum payout for a single roll is limited to €20,000.
Our No House Edge version of this dice game uses the following rules:
- If the player makes a One Number bet and his number is rolled on all three dice, the payout is 20:1.
- If the player wins a Domino bet and one of the selected numbers is rolled on two dice, the payout is 7:1 (as opposed to the standard 6:1).
- If the player makes a Specific Double bet and triples of the selected number are thrown, the payout is 35:1.
- Any Triple bet pays 35:1.
- Specific Triple bet pays 215:1.
- If the player makes a Big or Small bet, any triples are considered a draw and the bet is returned to the player.
Please note that, while the casino doesn’t have any advantage on the bets mentioned above, it retains its advantage for any Total bets when you play Sic Bo online.
